Sports massage is a form of manual therapy, and includes deep tissue massage, soft tissue release and trigger point therapy. Some might find it uncomfortable, but it is very effective at restoring optimal muscle length and decreasing tension within muscle tissue.

It can help individuals who experience aches and pains on a daily basis e.g from sitting at a desk all day, or driving long distances through to those who have physically demanding jobs. It can also help your mental wellbeing, as emotional stress and anxiety can often produce similar symptoms to that of a sports person.

What to expect

Technique Health and Fitness want to ensure a complete treatment process to ensure effective recovery from injury.  This is based on the following:

Assessment

Firstly, our massage practitioner will assess you to understand the problem.

To do this, he / she will take a detailed account of your complaint, discuss any medical issues, and conduct a thorough physical analysis.

Diagnosis

From considering all the information in the assessment, the practitioner will then review your body and the pain points.

Treatment Plan

Your practitioner will then undertake a massage, and will recommend any further actions that you need to take.

Review

If necessary, practitioner may suggest you attend another session. Our team hold integrity at the heart of our practice and will only ever suggest another session if it has benefit to you, or you request more. We will never ask you to attend more sessions than necessary.
